This is your chance to have your work premiered and recorded by Adelaide Wind Orchestra (AWO) in two major performances in 2023.

A key tenet of AWO’s mission is to perform new music by Australian composers. Since founding in 2012, we have performed many Australian works and a significant number of world and Australian premieres. In 2019 we were delighted to host our first contest, with Connor Fogarty’s Three Landscapes being the inaugural winner.

 

The intention of our program is to encourage emerging and early-career composers to write for this medium that we love. It is with great pleasure that we announce that applications are now open for the 2023 AWO Composition Contest.

We invite composers to submit a work between eight and twelve minutes long for our wind orchestra.
